CLAIMS PROGRAMS

The Association administers ADR Claims Programs, which offer structured alternative dispute resolution with set fee schedules, rules modified for the caseload as well as set timelines for dispute resolution.

For its Claims Programs, the AAA works with counsel, and often the judiciary, to structure appropriate settlement for the benefit of all parties. As part of the settlement process, a variety of non-binding and binding ADR techniques can be used, including neutral evaluation, mediation and arbitration. Arbitration may encompass a number of creative options, including telephonic hearings, "desk" arbitration that relies on documents only, or oral hearings.

The Claims Program Team at the AAA includes members of senior management with many years of ADR and case administration experience, and a superior understanding of the claims programs market. AAA Claims Programs provides prompt and economic filing, management and disposition of multiple cases at competitive costs.

The newest addition to the suite of claims-handling services comes from a strategic alliance between the AAA and Cybersettle. Cybersettle users will now have the ability to shift from the online settlement process to AAA conciliation, mediation, and arbitration if a claim is not settled through Cybersettle's patented online negotiation system. And, AAA clients using its proprietary online case management system, known as AAA WebFile, can opt to settle their disputes using Cybersettle's services prior to selection of AAA neutrals.
