Major construction projects generate vast amounts of data, including millions of documents, complex schedules, and frequent change orders. That makes today’s disputes more data-heavy than ever, and AI is emerging as a solution and a disruptor. From contract review and project design to worker safety, AI is transforming how the construction industry resolves conflict. But with powerful new tools come urgent questions: how do we cut through data overload while providing fair outcomes?
At the American Arbitration Association® (AAA), we see this shift as part of a broader dispute revolution – a reimagining of conflict management in a digital-first world. Our mission is to deliver innovative ways to prevent, manage, and resolve disputes fairly and efficiently. That means preparing arbitrators to be data-literate, leveraging AI responsibly to improve efficiency, and serving the parties who depend on us with every advancement.
This November, we’ll introduce our latest innovation: an AI-powered arbitrator. Trained on real awards and supported by human-in-the-loop safeguards, the AI Arbitrator is designed to deliver decisions with fairness, speed, and integrity. It will launch in documents-only construction cases, with expansion to other industries on the horizon.
Watch the video above to see how the construction industry and the AAA are pioneering the future of AI-powered dispute resolution.
